# Day 6: Use AI to improve customer acquisition and marketing

Create a checked marketing message, a verified next-step route and a simple measurement plan.

Answer one real customer question, make the next step clear and measure what happens. Keep the experiment small enough to learn from.

## Steps

1. Choose one question and audience

Use a genuine recurring question from the customers you serve. Supply your approved answer, service area and enquiry process.

2. Draft three openings

Use the prompt for three hooks and one helpful explanation. Keep claims grounded in supplied facts and any genuine permitted evidence.

3. Verify the next step

Open the actual form, resource or message route on a phone. Test it through to the receiving destination before publishing.

4. Use an authorised channel

Prepare the checked message for your own page or another permitted place. Follow group rules. Do not scrape contacts or send unsolicited private messages.

5. Measure and improve

Record the post, date, source and destination. Review useful clicks and relevant enquiries after a set period. Mark unavailable metrics unknown and change one main variable at a time.

## Understand the method

We'll use fictional Moss & Co Gardens again. The audience is householders in its confirmed service area who want help with a garden tidy. The question is simple: what information should I send to request a quote? We already know the approved answer. That gives us something useful to teach, with a natural route to an enquiry.

Start by writing down the customer's problem in their own ordinary language. Then add the actual service, area and quote process. Leave out unverified claims such as best in Manchester, guaranteed results or customer numbers. If you have genuine evidence you are allowed to use, supply it and ask the assistant to preserve it accurately.

Paste today's prompt into an ordinary chat. It asks for three different openings, one useful explanation and one call to action. It also asks which claims need checking. Choose the clearest version and edit it. You don't need to use every idea the assistant provides; one sound message is enough for the experiment.

Our illustrative message starts: requesting a garden tidy quote? Send your postcode, a short description of the work and relevant access details. It then explains that the business reviews the job before confirming a price and slot. The call to action is to send those details through the business's real enquiry route.

Now check that route yourself. On a phone, open the page or message link, follow the same steps a customer would, and see whether the enquiry reaches the right place. If the route fails, fix it before publication. A catchy opening can't make a broken form work. Don't publish a link just because it looks plausible.

Pick one authorised channel where your intended audience already sees your business. A post on your own page is a sensible start. For a community group, read the rules and participate only where your post is permitted. Don't collect contact details from members or send unsolicited private messages. Keep the help public and the next step voluntary.

Record the date, channel, post and destination. Decide in advance what matters: useful link clicks, enquiries received and whether those enquiries match your service. Likes can be interesting, but they don't show that someone understood the offer or asked for help. Use the reporting your account actually supplies, and record unknown values as unknown.

After a fixed review period, look at what happened. If nobody clicked, try a clearer opening. If people clicked but didn't enquire, check the page and the requested information. If unsuitable enquiries came in, improve the service or area wording. Change one main thing at a time so you can learn something from the next test.

## Copy-and-use prompt

```text
Help me draft one useful marketing experiment for a small business.
APPROVED BUSINESS FACTS: [service, customer, service area, process and permitted evidence]
REAL CUSTOMER QUESTION: [question]
APPROVED ANSWER: [answer]
CHANNEL: [own Facebook page / LinkedIn / other authorised channel]
NEXT STEP: [real enquiry route or useful resource]
Give 3 different opening hooks, one 80–120-word draft that answers the question, one clear call to action and a factual-check list. Use UK English. Do not invent testimonials, rankings, prices, offers, statistics, qualifications or results. Do not promise leads. Suggest one metric tied to the next step and one thing to vary after a fixed review period. Do not publish, scrape contact details or send private messages.
```

## Illustrative example

Fictional Moss & Co Gardens

Input:
Audience: householders in Manchester and Stockport. Question: what details help request a garden tidy quote? Approved answer: postcode, description, access details; review before price and slot confirmation.

Illustrative draft (not a recorded software result):
Requesting a garden tidy quote? Send your postcode, a short description of the work and relevant access details. Moss & Co Gardens covers Manchester and Stockport. We’ll review the job before confirming a price or booking slot. Use our enquiry route to tell us what you need. Experiment measure: relevant enquiries received from the chosen post, where attribution is available.

## Your task

Draft one useful post, check the real enquiry route and create a results row: date, channel, message, destination, clicks if available, relevant enquiries and next change.

## Check before completion

- The message answers a genuine customer question.
- Services and area are explicit.
- Every claim is supported.
- The destination works on a phone.
- Publication is authorised and permitted.
- Success is defined as a meaningful action, not only likes.
- Unknown metrics stay unknown.

## Watch out for

- More output is not proof of useful marketing.
- AI may invent proof or a stronger promise than your business can deliver.
- Traffic cannot fix a broken registration or enquiry route.
- Attribution may be incomplete; do not treat every visit as a lead.
